NAPCO POWER-PAK

1955 NAPCO CHEVROLET 4X4

The trend today on trucks and off road vehicles is to lift them up high for more clearance and better off road performance ...That trend really started in the late 70's lifting trucks and such and actually very few of them were really used off road but it did look cool and so the trend continues ….
Well back in the day…. I love saying that …..Well back in the day, and I do mean back in the day….1955 to be exact . NAPCO specialized in building vehicles and conversion systems that provided serious off road capabilities for Ford, Chevrolet, and Studebaker and had been in production since 1942…. By 1955 NAPCO Power-Paks could be purchased through a Chevrolet dealership for use on a new truck but the conversion had to be installed at the dealership…. As a test for 1956 GMC offered a 4x4 NAPCO conversion installed at the plant and covered by the GM warranty by 1957 the option was coded as RPO 690….and was available from the plant on either GMC or Chevrolet.
NAPCO conversions have proven to be super durable and effective off road machines and the trend was set …..NAPCO maintains a very high profile these trucks appear to have been lifted however the ride and clearance heights were designed into them from the very beginning …
“NO LIFT KIT REQUIRED”
These trucks are at the very pinnacle for collectability and value . They rate right there with the Cameo's …….
