Originally made as a road legal high performance sports car, based out of England, Ariel took it upon themselves to get into the racing venue, and the United States, by licensing in North America by TMI Autotech, Inc. at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia. And with 8 generations of Ariel to date, this Spec Atom is one to own.
Crown Concepts installed a new Honda 2.4L K24Z7 for the previous owner, who used it for a limited time, and it has been on our dyno, producing over 260 horsepower, which makes this car weighing under 1,400 lb., FAST! This power plant, and using the 6 speed manual H-pattern transmission, gives the driver all the gears and response to handle the hairpin, to the long straightaways. And the response of this Spec Atom is unbelievable. The three-spoke MOMO steering wheel fronts a Race Technology DASH2 digital display with inset shift lights. And with the fully adjustable suspension, front and rear, with the simplicity of a spanner tool approach, makes set up and hot lap sessions a breeze, while getting the perfect package to win. And win a lot. The cockpit is equipped with fixed-back Kirkey bucket seats equipped with six-point harnesses. A fire extinguisher is mounted to the central chassis tunnel, and additional equipment includes two rear-view mirrors.
