2006 Racing Ford Mustang #53-Part of the M-FR500C GT/GS Class
What a great opportunity to purchase a piece of Ford Racing History with this M-FR500C-GT #05024 from 2006. When Ford Racing introduced the Mustang FR500, it was a highly tuned race variant of the Ford Mustang and not designed for public roads. Each one was built with a unique Ford Racing number, instead of a DOT VIN. Every unit was built at the Flat Rock, MIchigan plant.
This beauty is White with Red Stripes, supporting #53! And it comes with the very powerful 5.0L “Cammer R50” engine, which produces 420 horsepower, which will keep you up front all day long. Have fun running through the gears with the Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission, and all the racing suspension you would expect from Ford. And it comes with a Grand Am-spec roll cage, allowing it to run GT or GS, with this competing in the 2007 KONI Challenge in the GT Class. It also competed in other venues offered at that time as part of Jim Click Racing, out of Tucson, AZ, who purchased this ride brand new. A true One Owner.
Part of the mystic of FR500C's is the process of each engine being a stock M-6010-T50 block, which is basically an aluminum Cobrablock having water-jacket modifications, centrifugally cast, nodular-iron liners of 3.70 bore, and was good for about 11:1 compression. And on top go production of Four-Valve GT cylinder heads using special valves and springs for sustained high rpm. And to give it the “go power” is a fixed-geometry (no variable runners) intake fed by a stock Cobra dual-bore throttle body. A lot of performance thought throughout this build.
All in all, this is an excellent choice if you are looking for a Race Car, with history, with power, and the original look of Ford Racing FR500C series. By the way, they won the Manufacturing Title in both 2005 and 2008 in the Koni Challenge Series. Ready to Race and Built Ford Tough!
